After starting with one trainee in 2006, CrossFit Quantico has grown steadily ever since. Founded officially in February of 2008, we have sixteen “Level I” certified trainers and one “Level II” certified trainer. Our participants range from analysts with graduate degrees to housewives and combat veterans—embracing the CrossFit model of scalability. In short, we are a group of military and civilian personnel dedicated to personal growth. We have an official tie to the CrossFit community and reciprocate the benefits of CrossFit programming. Specifically, “CrossFit Quantico” is:

●A non-profit affiliate. Access to our trainers and equipment is free
●A group to exemplify the Marine Corps functional fitness concept
●An example for other military affiliates to emulate
●An extended home for members of the CrossFit community

We have three of our own Marine “hero” workouts. One workout honors Major Doug Ziembec, who passed away in May of 2007. The second workout honors Corporal Jason Dunham, posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor. The third hero workout is in honor of Captain Jen Harris who was killed in the line of duty.

In the end, we are committed to fundamentals, virtuosity and mastery. Coach Glassman’s words ring true: “The lessons learned through physical training are unavoidable. The character traits required and developed through physical training are universally applicable to all endeavors. Perseverance, industry, sacrifice, self-control, integrity, honesty and commitment are best and easiest learned in the gym.” It is our desire to refine these traits through dedicated practice.

Hang Tough.
